Hello everyone:
Winter has been dumping a ton of snow on us. Thought you might like to see my humble abode before another 10" fell.
The good news is, in spite of shoveling and snow blowing for hours, I've managed to finish a few paintings. The "mini" cardinal and rose breasted grosbeak I have painted before in a larger format. If Monet could paint something 10 times, why can't I? When complaining about our lack of skill and talent, my teacher, Helen Van Wyk would say we just needed to practice more. That's the clue. I'll get better at birds if I just paint more birds. Doesn't matter how long it takes.
I found a couple of old photos (not digitals) that I had taken back in the 90's. I've always loved these two pictures but didn't have the courage to put them into paint. Somehow, being house bound with five feet of snow around me has erased my hesitation. If I put something in front of me - I paint it! The paintings are of a house in Rockport, MA and September in Nantucket. Hope you are all well, warm and painting!
