age 60

Hi everyone:
Have been busy painting up a storm!!!! Not really a storm - just feels like it. I had a pile of paintings that just didn't quite do what I wanted them to do. 10 in fact. So last month I spent re-painting the 10 paintings. LOVE them now.
My 60th birthday was this past June. Just had to do a self-portrait. Hadn't done one since I was 49 so I thought it was time. I was more fun to paint with all my sags and wrinkles. More stories in my face now and not so self-conscious. Painting a self portrait as a 20 year old was horrific!
The hardest part about doing the painting was the setting up and getting started. I was a bit intimidated to do another self-portrait. Now, I can't wait until I'm 70!!!!! Happy Painting.

  4. Beautiful painting. Next year will be my turn, but I'll have more sags to add.

  5. Dear Bonnie:
Thank-you for visiting. You don't have to put in all the sags! :) That's the great part about being a painter.

  6. Thanks for sharing...I'm sure you are too busy to check this often, just want to tell you that you deserve the success!
I was into drawing portraits and got away from it, sometimes I think about starting it back up, hope if I do I can be as successful!
Absolutely beautiful paintings! (check out G+ if you haven't already...great exposure for artists!)
